Develop Your Swim Skills

The City of Brampton offers quality swimming lessons that help participants develop water safety skills that last a lifetime. Fully qualified instructors are selected carefully to ensure participants receive the best aquatic programming available.

Free Swim Assessments

Swim assessments are designed for participants that are unsure of which swimming level they should register in. A certified swim instructor will take the participant through a series of in-water skills and provide details on what swim level would be most appropriate for the participant to register in. A free assessment can be requested with one of our customer service representatives at any of our scheduled public drop-in swims.

Participants are required to come ready to swim in appropriate swim attire and must bring a towel.

If your swimmer has successfully completed a level in another program, use our Conversion Chart to identify which City of Brampton Splash equivalent to register in!

Swim Level Descriptions

Splash Parent & Tot 1-3
Ages: 4 Months to 3 Years

This program structures in-water interaction between parent and child to stress the importance of play in developing water-positive attitudes and skill.
Little Splash 1-5
Ages: 3 to 6 Years

The Little Splash program was developed to give children a head start on learning how to swim, and help them gain an appreciation and healthy respect for the water. In our five preschool levels we will work to ensure our 3 to 6 year olds become comfortable in the water.
Splash 1-6
Ages: 6 to 13 Years

Our Splash program has levels for beginning to intermediate swimmers. The program includes progressions that will provide the basics to swimming, as well as, practice that will help develop swimming strokes and skills.
Splash 7-10
Ages: 6 to 13 Years

A program for those with a higher level swimming ability. Swimmers will continue to develop their swim strokes and be provided with a skill foundation that will prepare them for success in advanced aquatic leadership courses.
Teen 1-3 / Adult 1-3
Ages: 14 to 17 Years / 18+ Years

This program was developed for teens / adults who are just starting out or for those who are looking to improve their strokes. Participants will be encouraged to set their own goals and with the guidance of our instructors, swimmers will develop water confidence and improve their swimming ability.
First Aid, Certifications and Leadership
Ages: 8+ Years

First Aid and Aquatic leadership programs help participants develop sound judgement, decision-making, problem-solving and communication skills that employers value. Lifeguards and swim instructors who complete their courses open doors to successful careers in the field of medicine, emergency services, and beyond.

Make Up Lessons

Occasionally lessons may be cancelled due to unforeseen operational issues. We will do our best to provide compensation for any lost program time. Make-up classes or compensation will not be available due to participant illness or personal commitments.
