Celebrating Brampton Youth!

This National Youth Week, the City of Brampton wants to give a special thank you to all its youth. From May 1-7, join us for a week of FREE activities and events!​

Activities and Events

National Youth Week Carnival Night  

Time: 5 - 9 PM

Age : 14 - 29 

Participants are invited to come together to enjoy a vibrant and exciting carnival atmosphere where they can engage in a variety of activities that includes classic interactive carnival games, inflatable group games, and carnival treats.  

Pizza will be sponsored by Domino's Pizza.

Pathways to Peace  
 

Time: 5 PM - 6:30 PM 

Indus Community Services, Community Youth Workers, will be hosting an engaging event featuring interactive activities including pen-making and board games. Through these fun activities, we will address risk factors that may lead youth toward at-risk behaviors, and promote healthy coping mechanisms, self-care practices and positive habits.

Youth Vibrant, Energetic and on the GO
 

Location: 31 Fair Oaks Place 

Time: 6 PM to 8 PM

2025 National Youth Week with Helping Hands 

Location:
Virtual, Zoom platform 

Time: 6 - 7 PM  

We are hosting a 3-part series workshop that includes Introduction to Civic Engagement and Volunteerism, ChangeMakers Microgrant Initiatives and BYOU in partnership with Natural Kids Movement. Each workshop showcases elements of volunteerism, creating impact within our communities, and self-image and its effects on Mental Health to empower youth in Ontario to become the next changemakers and lead an example for the next generation. We look forward to educating, mentoring and providing resources for youth in Ontario in this 3-part series.

The NextGen Youth Market is an opportunity for youth to support Brampton youth entrepreneurs. Youth can come to the market to see a variety of businesses ranging from Fashion, Arts & Crafts, Health & Wellness, and Beauty.

Explore the Outdoors – Try It Sports

Time: ​1 - 4 PM

Location: Chinguacousy Park

Age: 14 - 29 

Embark on an exciting outdoor journey with Explore the Outdoors, where youth will have the opportunity to discover and experience unique sports in a natural setting. Guided by our staff, participants will engage in various outdoor activities, including pickleball, disc golf and archery.

Explore the Outdoors – Social Scavenger Hunt 

Time: 4:15 - 5:45 pm 

Age: 14 - 29 

Team up with fellow participants and put your problem-solving skills to the test in a thrilling scavenger hunt around Chinguacousy Park. Follow clues, solve puzzles, and complete tasks as you explore the outdoor environment, all while bonding with your teammates and enjoying the beauty of nature. Be prepared for surprises and adventure around every corner. A prize will be awarded to the winning team.

(Peel) Conservation Youth Corps National Youth Week Stewardship Projects 

Time: 6 - 9 PM 

Get outside and help prepare our future pollinator gardens at the Paul Flood building in Claireville Conservation Park and learn about the pollinators that might use it! After, we will have the unique opportunity to explore the wetlands of Claireville and conduct a Frog Watch around sunset! Event is open to high school students ONLY and participants are eligible for 3 community service hours.

The City of Brampton is conducting a recreational youth basketball tournament during National Youth Week! Join us for a few hours of light-hearted competition, team-building, and fun! The tournament is structured to allow an equal number of games, seeding into a final championship round. If you'd like to choose your team mates, please include their full names in the questionnaire so that teams can be made accordingly. Teams will be divided by age. We'll also have a special guest appearance by the Brampton Honey Badgers to kick off the tournament, along with Peel Police Officers to coach and play on our youth teams! End off the tournament with a free slice of pizza, sponsored by Domino's Pizza! All equipment will be provided, including basketballs.

Required Equipment: Clean indoor running shoes, water bottle.

Free Suicide & Overdose Loss Grief Support Group (13-17) 

Location: Virtual Platform (Zoom) 

Time: 6:30 - 8 PM 

High level description of event ( 2-3 sentences):  We are reaching out to inform you about a valuable opportunity for youth aged 13-17 who are grieving the loss of a loved one due to suicide or overdose. Bereaved Families is offering free, virtual grief support groups specifically designed for young people navigating these difficult and unique losses. These groups provide a compassionate and safe space to connect with others who truly understand what you're going through.

National Youth Week - Retro Rolling Skate Night 

Time: 5 - 9 PM

Location: Gore Meadows Community Centre 

Get ready to roll into fun and excitement with Retro Rolling – Skate Night, our thrilling roller-skating event designed exclusively for youth ages 14 to 29! Whether you're a seasoned skater or strapping on wheels for the first time, this program promises endless thrills, laughter, and camaraderie. SUSO Skate will be providing roller skates and protective gear. Participants can bring their own equipment.

Explore Brampton Youth Pass ​

Generously sponsored by Amazon, the Explore Brampton Youth Pass provides youth with free access on Brampton Transit and select recreation opportunities throughout the summer.

Passholders will enjoy free rides on Brampton Transit and complimentary access to Brampton recreation drop-in programs, including swimming, skating and select sports, from July 1 to September 1, 2025. Applications for the Explore Brampton Youth Pass are now open.

Eligible residents can apply online. The deadline to apply is Sunday, May 18, 2025. For more information about the Explore Brampton Youth Pass, visit  brampton.ca/ebyp​​.​
