Older adults can visit any City of Brampton Recreation Centre to sign-up for a yearly membership. The free annual pass will be added to their Recreation Registration account. Live a healthy, happy life in Brampton! Step 1: Visit your nearest Recreation Centre to complete the verification process. Step 2: Your free annual membership will be active as of June 1. Frequently Asked Questions What programs and services are included?Residents age 70 and older will have access to the following services at no cost: Fitness centre membership Racquet membership Swimming and skating membership Walking track membership Most general programs Swimming and skating group lessons Aquafit drop-ins Fitness drop-ins Public swims and skates Shinny and shoot around drop-ins Sports drop-ins Dance drop-in Most general interest drop-insGroup Fitness programs What documents do I need to provide for verification?The following documents are required to complete verification. Once verified, staff will take a photo of the membership holder and add it to the account. Proof of Brampton Address Driver’s License or Ontario Photo ID Card Household bill (telephone, TV, hydro, gas or water) Bank or Credit Card Statement Statement of Government Benefits (employment insurance, old age security, social assistance or disability support) Property Tax Bill Revenue Canada Notice of Assessment Proof of Identity Driver’s License or Ontario Photo ID Card Passport Permanent Resident Card Provincial Health Card (red/white version is not acceptable) Canadian Birth Certificate (only if presented with a valid piece of photo ID) Proof of Canadian Citizenship or Permanent Residency Passport Permanent Resident Card Canadian Birth Certificate Citizenship Certificate Citizenship CardWhat if I have already purchased an annual membership?Your annual membership fee will be withdrawn, and a pro-rated refund will be issued as an account credit based on the date of your request.What if I have already purchased programs or lessons?Free recreation services applies to registrations made after the activation of the 70+ membershipHow do I use the free annual membership?After the activation date, register for free services online or in-person. How do I apply to receive free Recreation services?Visit your nearest Recreation Centre to complete the verification process. Memberships will be active as of June 1. Once active, you will be able to register for programs and services in-person or online with your Recreation Registration Account.Am I eligible to receive the free annual membership?You must be 70 years of age or older, a resident of Brampton and show proof of Canadian citizenship or permanent residency to be eligible for the 70+ Free Recreation Membership.How long is the free membership valid for?You will be required to renew your free annual membership on an annual basis. The free annual pass can be renewed at any Recreation Centre. Your membership is eligible for renewal up to 8 weeks prior to expiry.
