Cricket Amenities​

Brampton is home to 20 cricket fields and 1 tape ball field across 15 locations citywide. Over the last three years, more than 25 enhancements have been made to cricket fields, with more amenity upgrades underway. As demand continues to grow in our city, we are committed to enhancing our pitches and creating more space for all to play and enjoy. Installation of natural cricket pitches and improved screens were completed in 2020. 

In July 2024, Blue Oak Park welcomed a new youth cricket field. This will be a synthetic pitch providing a space for youth to enhance their cricket skills, while fostering an active and healthy lifestyle. The field will be programmed for leagues this summer, contributing to the expansion of Brampton’s cricket amenities. ​

The existing cricket field was redeveloped in 2021 to expand the field to international standards, including natural turf pitches, adjusting the field layout to provide better sun orientation, improved grading and spectator access. ​The City is spearheading a joint development partnership for the City Lands, visit Uptown Brampton City Lands​ to learn more.

Development of a fully lit cricket field is underway, with anticipated completion in 2024. Installation of a general purpose shade shelter was also completed to support all multi-use, including cricket. ​

In 2023, the cricket pitches were upgraded to synthetic turf and opened for use in 2024. ​​

A new cricket pitch at Emancipation Park opened for play in 2020. Improvements included the addition of sight screens to the cricket amenities on site, allowing for enhanced cricket play for larger groups, tournaments, and the competitive grass-roots cricket leagues. Repairs to the existing batting cage, a pilot washroom installation and a general purpose shade structure was installed in 2023. A new cricket pitch was installed in 2023 and opened for use in 2024. ​

Improvements to the existing cricket field were completed in 2021 and included expanded field of play, turf upgrades, adjusting the field layout to provide better sun orientation, and irrigation. ​

The location features multiple natural pitches installed in 2020. Lighting was added in 2021 to make this location the City’s first fully lit cricket pitch. ​ ​

Development of one premier cricket pitch and two community cricket pi​tches will be included in the overall development of Gore Meadows Community Park​, anticipated completion in 2025/2026.

Brampton’s second fully lit cricket field has been completed. Amenities include upgraded natural turf wickets, scoreboard, sightscreens, improved spectator seating, irrigation, and park pathways. Additional lighting was installed in 2023 and two new shade shelters and cricket batting cages opened in 2024. ​
