Kathleen Douglass (Host): Brampton Women's Advisory Committee Co-Chair

Over 40 years of international experience working at both the field and leadership levels with formal education in the not-for-profit sector has given Kathleen a solid background in understanding the unique roles of working equally in the voluntary and private sectors as a community developer. She has presented workshops on leadership, governance and board development to groups in Europe, 10 US states, and 4 Asian countries.  She is an appointed Co-Chair of the Brampton Women's Advisory Committee and a passionate advocate to build a better world for women and girls. In the 44 years that Kathleen has been a member of Zonta, she has served as an elected Zonta International & Zonta International Foundation Director and currently is the President of the Zonta Club of Brampton-Caledon.

Angel Massey-Singh (Host/Moderator): Brampton Women's Advisory Committee Co-Chair

Angel Massey-Singh is the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) of Making Waves Swim School, a Brampton-founded organization with six locations across the GTA. With a wealth of leadership experience across various sectors, she has led organizations with strategic vision and meaningful impact. Passionate about community-driven initiatives and advocating for individuals facing systemic oppression, Angel actively contributes to her community. She serves on the boards of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Peel-York and Revive Peel and co-chairs the Brampton Women's Advisory Committee. Born and raised in Mississauga, Angel has proudly called Brampton home for over 20 years.

Sasha Leigh Henry: Writer, Director, Producer and BAO Ambassador

Sasha Leigh Henry (she/her) is a writer, director, producer and lover of all things hilarious. Named one of Variety's 10 to Watch for 2022, Henry made her debut as series creator and showrunner with the release of the Crave Original Comedy Bria Mack Gets A Life. As a director, her film Sinking Ship debuted at TIFF 2020 and was the winner of the 2021 Vimeo Staff Pick Award at Aspen Shortsfest, and her film Bitches Love Brunch screened at festivals internationally before being acquired by CBC Gem. As a producer, Sasha has helped bring numerous films to screen including Randall Okita's Canadian Screen Award winner The Lockpicker, Kelly Fyffe-Marshall's award-winning short film Black Bodies as well as her follow-up feature When Morning Comes. A frequent panelist and speaker, Sasha is also an alumni of POV 3rd Street, Black Women Film!, 2020's TIFF Filmmaker Lab, a TIFF Netflix Talent Accelerator Fellow, former chair of the board of Reelworld Film Festival and artist ambassador for the City of Brampton. Co-written with her creative partner Tania Thompson Sasha is currently working on her debut feature film Dinner With Friends.

Joy Brown: Retired Peel Regional Police Constable, Human Trafficking & Exploitation Champion

Joy Brown is a retired member of the Peel Regional Police Service.  She is currently assigned to Community Safety and Wellbeing Services for Peel Police as a CSWB Advisor.  She works with Community Partners to provide services to individuals, families and communities that are at risk and works directly with victims/survivors of human trafficking. Constable Brown is the former Chair of the Peel Human Trafficking Service Providers Committee.  The Committee has developed a Regional Protocol to address the needs of victims/survivors of Human Trafficking and provides community seminars/presentations/training to increase knowledge and awareness of the impact of human trafficking.

Jyoti Malik: Owner of Grillies Restaurant, Brampton

Jyoti Malik is a businesswoman, a teacher, and, most importantly, a mother of two wonderful kids. Professionally, she hold a master's degree in Chemistry and is a certified Ontario teacher, but her love for cooking has always been a significant part of who she is. Today, Jyoti channels her passion and determination into running two businesses, including Grillies, a restaurant at 48 Queen Street West, Brampton.

Aman Kainth: Division Chief, Fire Life Safety Education, Brampton Fire & Emergency Services

Aman Kainth is the Division Chief, Fire Life Safety Education with Brampton Fire & Emergency Services. With over 25 years of combined public sector experience in British Columbia and Ontario, her extensive background includes exceptional leadership skills and the ability to build strong relationships across all levels of government, municipal officials, and stakeholders. She is highly regarded for providing strategic advice, consultation, and direction on program development, delivery, and communications. Prior to working at the City of Brampton, Aman worked in the Ontario Public Service for over 15 years. Born and raised in BC, Aman is a first generation Canadian raised in a Punjabi Sikh family where she is the second eldest of five children and of those children, four girls! Aman has been a Brampton resident for almost 17 years. In her spare time, she spends time writing, cooking and traveling with her two biggest blessings, her daughter and son - family first! Aman is passionate about empowering others, especially women and driving collaboration for the common good. She lives her life in the words of Maya Angelou, “If you're going to live, leave a legacy. Make a mark on the world that can't be erased."​
