Application for City of Brampton's Garden Suite Grant Program

A Garden Suite is an Additional Residential Unit (ARU) ancillary to a single detached, semi-detached, or townhouse unit, which is detached from the principal dwelling and located in the rear or side yard. This program provides grants to reimburse select municipal fees for garden suites to support homeowners in the creation of new units.

Criteria for Funding Eligibility

This funding application is for completed garden suite units which have been registered with the City’s Building Division.

The following municipal fees are eligible to be refunded by the City through the Garden Suite Grant Program:

  • Registration Fee
  • Building Permit Fee
  • Custom Home Review Fee
  • Educational Development Charges​​
