The Building Division provides inspections to ensure compliance with the Ontario Building Code (OBC) and relevant City By-Laws. Inspection Services helps to ensure construction is completed in accordance with the approved plans. We also guide the homeowner or contractor in completing the construction project correctly. If inspections are not requested at appropriate times, uncovering the construction will be required.

Request an Inspection

Inspections can only be booked Monday to Friday, excluding statutory holidays. Inspections are available to book for 5 days in advance. At 3pm each day, the next business day will no longer be available for booking on the portal. If you have successfully booked, you will receive an email at the end of the business day confirming the date of your inspection.

If your permit has a revision, be sure to schedule the inspection on both the original permit and the revision.

If you are scheduling occupancy inspections or final inspections, please book all three disciplines (Building, Plumbing and HVAC) for the same day. If you have any issues booking all three for the same day, email inspections.scheduling@brampton.ca for assistance.

Inspections take place between 8am and 4pm daily. The attendee should be on site between 8am and 4pm to conduct your building, plumbing or HVAC inspection on the day scheduled. Contact information must be provided the Attendee. Please ensure the person designated as the attendee is familiar with construction and related terminology for the scope of work requested.

Due to a high volume of requests, we may not be able to accommodate your request. You may see a message appear that states “Maximum available inspections for this discipline (building/plumbing/HVAC) has been reached for <date>.” You can choose another available date as an alternative. Your inspections are very important to us. Thank you in advance for your co-operation and we apologize for any inconvenience.

If you have any questions or inquiries regarding inspection scheduling or need assistance with booking on the portal, email inspections.scheduling@brampton.ca.

Mandatory Inspection Checklists

When a permit is issued, there is a Mandatory Inspection Checklist included as part of the building permit card. The inspections indicated with a checkmark must be requested for the project. For some residential projects, we will also provide a document to guide you on the order inspections should be booked. You can refer to these documents here:
