The City of Brampton's 2025 Budget demonstrates Brampton’s commitment to progress and prosperity through key investments in infrastructure, transit, health care and community spaces, while maintaining affordability with a 2.9% tax levy increase, equating to an annual rise of $194 for the average residential home.
2025 Budget Highlights
Critical infrastructure investments: Building a resilient future to meet both current and future needs
- $23.8 million for Downtown Revitalization
- $15 million for Riverwalk
Community spaces and active living: Creating modern, inclusive amenities that inspire recreation and foster pride
- $148 million for the new Embleton Community Centre
- $23 million for winter-optimized facilities such as the Earnscliffe Cricket Dome
- $14 million for the construction of Cassie Campbell Field Hockey
- $5 million for park enhancements and playground upgrades
- Additional outdoor ice rinks
- Enhancing recreation programs by five per cent, which is the equivalent of serving an additional 8,000 participants
Brampton Transit enhancements: Aiming to reducing commute times and prioritizing sustainable transportation options
- $300 million committed to the construction of Transit’s third facility
- 52,000 additional service hours to reduce wait times
Prioritizing health care: Strengthening health care infrastructure to meet the needs of Brampton’s growing population
- $10 million for the TMU School of Medicine, opening in 2025
- $81.1 million in reserves to date and $4.9 million in levies for Brampton’s second hospital
Public Engagement and Transparency
The City’s annual budget process engaged residents, businesses and stakeholders through various public consultation opportunities:
- A telephone town hall with 5,695 residents
- A roundtable with more than 200 businesses
- Five coffee chats with Ward Councillors from across the city
The input collected helped shape the final budget and ensure community priorities were reflected.
