Launched in 2021, this program aims to engage emerging artists with a strong connection to Brampton to help shape public spaces and bring vibrancy to community infrastructure. Brampton BOXED is part of the City’s Public Art Strategy, Brampton: An Artful Future, and offers a unique opportunity for artists to gain public art experience by creating artwork for traffic control boxes across the city.

Since 2021, 15 traffic boxes were transformed with art across the city, enhancing the visual landscape of Brampton's streets and fostering community pride, adding to the City’s growing number of public art installations. This year, ten artists will be selected to showcase their creativity through the program.

All interested artists are invited to apply for the program. Selected artists will receive a $1,800 artist fee as compensation for their work.

How to apply

To submit an application and for more information about the Brampton Traffic Box Art Program 2024, visit Brampton.ca/publicart. The deadline to apply is Wednesday, August 7 at 2 pm EDT.
