BRAMPTON, ON – The City of Brampton’s Administrative Penalty System (APS) is now making it easier to pay or dispute tickets through its new online platform. The new online APS platform will be available as of October 16, 2023.
APS is a fast and flexible system for payment, review and collection of parking and other by-law penalties. It is designed to streamline the enforcement process and increase compliance with the City of Brampton’s by-laws in a manner that is fair, effective and efficient.
Through the enforcement tool, by-law disputes will be transferred from the courtroom to the municipality using independent Screening and Hearing Review Officers who can affirm, reduce, or cancel penalties,
About the penalties process:
Individuals who receive a Penalty Notice can:
• Pay the Penalty Notice; or
• Request a review by a Screening Officer
Screening reviews can now be completed through an online written submission which will be reviewed and completed by a Screening Officer with the authority to affirm, reduce, or cancel the penalty.
If individuals disagree with the Screening Officer's decision, they have up to 15 days after the decision to request a Hearing Review Meeting. Hearing Reviews will be conducted using an online virtual platform.
The Hearing Officer’s decision, following the Hearing Review meeting, is final.
