​BRAMPTON, ON (November 28, 2022) – Heartbeats in Performing Arts returns for its second year and is offering students the opportunity to apply for the high school co-op placement program and the paid internship program.

Heartbeats in Performing Arts is designed by, for and with Black and Indigenous students, and is guided by an incredible team of Black and Indigenous lead mentors and professional artists. The program aims to celebrate and elevate Black and Indigenous youth, increase cultural understandings, provide opportunities for professional development and prepare students for future leadership positions and careers in the live performance industry.

High School Co-op Program
This program is a hybrid – virtual and in-person – co-op placement with Performing Arts Brampton for semester two (Winter/Spring 2023) with four co-op spots available. The program is for Black and Indigenous students in grades 11 and 12 and is open to students in the Peel Region, GTA and surrounding school boards. Applications are now open and the program runs until June. To apply please visit the website.

Paid Internship Program
This program is for Black and Indigenous students that are currently enrolled in a post-secondary institution (college/university). Applications for one paid internship spot will open in December and the internship begins in February.
