BRAMPTON, ON (February 14, 2022) – Family Day recognizes the importance of families in our community. This year, Family Day takes place on Monday, February 21, 2022, and as a result, a number of City services will be unavailable or will operate under reduced service levels.
All essential and critical services, including Fire and Emergency Services, Traffic Services, By-Law Enforcement, Road Operations, and Security Services will continue to operate as usual to support the community. City Hall and select corporate facilities will reopen and resume walk-in services effective Tuesday, February 22.

An enhanced cleaning and sanitizing schedule remains in effect. Riders are reminded that non-medical masks covering your nose, mouth and chin are mandatory on buses and terminals. The City urges riders to continue to maintain physical distancing at terminals, and at bus stops, even while wearing a mask, as much as possible.

Brampton RecreationRecreation centres are open on Family Day, offering a variety of drop-in and registered programs for residents to enjoy. Proof of vaccination is required for all patrons ages 12 and up when entering a recreation centre. Visit

Celebrate Family Day at Chinguacousy Park by participating in a variety of activities taking place from 12 to 4 pm. Free programs include an indoor tennis drop-in, disc golf, snow golf, and ice sculpture ring toss. Fire warming stations will be available at the outdoor skating rink and ski chalet. Mount Chinguacousy will be open for drop-in skiing, snowboarding and tubing from 10 am to 6 pm, weather and snow conditions permitting. Fees apply.
Outdoor skating rinks are open on a first-come, first-served basis, weather and ice conditions permitting. Visitors are encouraged to visit the
outdoor skating page for information related to outdoor skating guidelines and updates to outdoor rink operational status prior to their visit.
All main recreational trails remain open and maintained, including outdoor fitness equipment. All outdoor fields and courts also remain open for play, including soccer, basketball, tennis and ball hockey. Visit

Animal Control is on the road Monday to Friday from 7 am to 10 pm, and on Saturday, Sunday and holidays from 8 am to 6:30 pm, and will be responding to the following calls only:
• Pick up of sick/injured/aggressive domestic animals and wildlife
• Aggressive animal
• Dog running at large
• Dog bite investigation
• Pick up of confined stray dog
• Pick up of dead animal
