​BRAMPTON, ON (January 18, 2021) – Brampton Animal Services is the first in Canada to offer Home To Home™, an interactive service to help pet owners who can no longer keep their pets find new, loving homes without having to surrender them to the shelter.

Through Home To Home™, pets go from their current home into their new one. The current pet owners and new pet owners can communicate directly within the platform to receive firsthand information about the animals and arrange to transfer their pets.

The re-homing website will help Brampton pet owners who need to find a new home for their pets, including dogs, cats and other animals. The current pet owner simply fills out a brief online form and uploads a picture to submit a pet for re-homing. Those seeking to welcome a pet to their family can search for available pets on Home To Home™. There is no charge to re-home a pet for either party.

Brampton Animal Services will monitor the City’s Home To Home™ platform as needed. Animal Services can offer advice and tips to aid in the re-homing process. Owners are asked to notify Brampton Animal Services when their pet is safely in its new home.
 
While re-homing pets through Home To Home™ will alleviate the need for some pets to be surrendered to the shelter, it may not be suitable for all re-homing needs. Animals can still be surrendered directly to the shelter on a case-by-case basis. Please contact Brampton Animal Services for more information.
