Free activities happening city-wide from May 1 to 7, empowering and celebrating Brampton youth
BRAMPTON, ON (April 14, 2025) – The City of Brampton is set to deliver another exciting lineup of events and activities for National Youth Week, from May 1 to May 7, 2025. This annual celebration honours the contributions of young people across Canada and in our community, and provides a platform for youth aged 14 to 29 to engage in a variety of free activities and events throughout the city. Explore Brampton Youth Pass
Generously sponsored by Amazon, the Explore Brampton Youth Pass provides youth with free access on Brampton Transit and select recreation opportunities throughout the summer. 2,500 Explore Brampton Youth Passes are available for Brampton youth aged 12 to 16. Passholders will enjoy free rides on Brampton Transit and complimentary access to Brampton recreation drop-in programs, including swimming, skating and select sports, from July 1 to September 1, 2025. Applications for the Explore Brampton Youth Pass are now open. Eligible residents can apply online. The deadline to apply is Sunday, May 18, 2025. Career and innovation opportunities during National Youth Week
Brampton Tech Talks
Be inspired by youth leaders in technology and their stories of innovation, resilience and impact. The City of Brampton Economic Development Office, in collaboration with Brampton Library, is spotlighting young changemakers during National Youth Week, connecting the next generation of tech talent with the community, new ideas and resources to spark inspiration and future opportunities. Moderated by Kim Cooper of Space Canada (and former President of FIRST Robotics), the event will explore how today’s youth are shaping tomorrow’s tech. Register for the session online here.

Futurpreneur Virtual Information Session
Futurepreneur is a national non-profit organization that provides young aspiring entrepreneurs across Canada with the loan financing, mentorship and resources they need to start or buy a business. Individuals aged 18 to 39 are invited to apply for up to $75,000 in funding. Since 1996, Futurpreneur has fostered the entrepreneurial passions of Canada’s diverse young startup founders.

Recreation opportunities during National Youth Week
Generously sponsored by Sheridan College and Domino’s Pizza, youth aged 14 to 29 are invited to participate in a variety of free activities, including sports, adventure, entrepreneurial and volunteer opportunities led by Brampton Recreation. To kick off the week, the City is hosting an early 2000s-themed indoor carnival, including inflatable games, interactive tabletop challenges and classic carnival treats. As the sponsor of this event, Domino’s is providing free pizza.

Pass the Mic – Fourth Annual Open Mic for National Youth Week
Run by youth, for youth! This annual open mic night invites youth aged 13 to 24 to share their voices and stories on stage. Whether through poetry, song, rap or comedy, performers are encouraged to showcase their talents and connect with a vibrant community of peers. All genres of performing arts are welcome! Youth Community Park Cleanups
Hosted by Brampton’s Parks Maintenance and Forestry team, youth are invited to participate in a community cleanup event, helping to keep Brampton clean. These events are a great opportunity to engage in environmental stewardship while making a positive impact on the local community. Participants will earn community service hours and enjoy a free BBQ!
