​​​​BRAMPTON, ON (March 14, 2025) – Cricket continues to thrive in Brampton as the City’s Youth Cricket League makes its highly anticipated return for a second year. After a successful debut in 2024 that saw nearly 100 young athletes take to the field, the program is expanding to offer even more opportunities for aspiring cricketers.

New this year

In response to the league’s success and high demand, the City is introducing a spring session alongside the popular summer league. This expansion offers local youth more chances to sharpen their skills, enjoy friendly competition and immerse themselves in the sport they love.

Youth ages six to 15 are encouraged to learn a new sport and improve their cricket skills. The spring session will begin on April 29, with registration now open and spots available. The summer session will begin on July 7, with registration beginning on June 2. To register for the Youth Cricket League, visit brampton.ca/cricket

About Brampton's Youth Cricket League

The league has three age groups, U9, U12 and U15 and is open to players of all skill levels, from beginners to experienced cricketers. The structured format includes a mixture of practises and gameplay, providing a balanced mix of skill development and game play. The 2025 Youth Cricket League is generously sponsored by Centaur Products Inc.

Cricket in Brampton highlights 

  • Through the 2025 Budget, the City of Brampton is investing approximately $10 million over the next two years to equip local cricket facilities with lighting and other enhancements. 
  • Brampton is home to 22 cricket sites and growing! 
  • In summer 2024, the City of Brampton hosted the GT20 Tournament for a third year, welcoming some of the top international cricket players and some of the biggest names in the sport. 
  • The City’s cricket amenities host 70 unique seasonal organizations, tournaments and individuals that book over 19,000 hours of field time. 
  • The City Lands​ project is a proposed redevelopment of the municipal-owned site at Kennedy Road South, Highway 410 and 407, at the CAA sports and entertainment facility that includes a new state-of-the-art, multi-purpose cricket facility. 
  • In partnership with Peel District School Board, the City is investing to bring a new, fully lit facility with artificial turf wickets and player pavilions to Turner Fenton Secondary School.
