BRAMPTON, ON (October 23, 2024) – Every year on November 11, Canadians pause for a moment of silence to honour and remember the men and women who served and continue to serve Canada in times of war, conflict and peace. This Remembrance Day, the City of Brampton will host a series of parades and services in collaboration with Royal Canadian Legions Branch 15 and 609, to pay tribute to the more than 2.3 million Canadians who have served throughout our nation’s history, including the 118,000 who made the ultimate sacrifice.
Poppy Campaign and Flag Raising
To mark the beginning of the annual Poppy Campaign, there will be a special flag-raising ceremony at Brampton City Hall. Funds raised through the Poppy Campaign will directly support Canada’s veterans and their families, ensuring their sacrifices are never forgotten. The campaign will run from October 25 to November 11. For more information, contact the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 15 at 905-451-9569 or Branch 609 at 905-453-1488, or visit the Legion’s website.
