BRAMPTON, ON (September 25, 2024) – The City of Brampton is proud to support Small Business Month, recognizing the vital contributions of entrepreneurs fueling our local economy. 90% of all Brampton businesses are classified as small business and the City is committed to providing them with the tools and resources to succeed.
Throughout the month of October, the Brampton Entrepreneur Centre (BEC), part of the City’s Economic Development Office (EDO), will offer free programming and launch extended hours. This initiative will include business seminars, online courses, mentorship programs and more, designed to support small businesses at various stages of their growth.
Highlights of Small Business Month programming include:
- How to Start a Small Business: A step-by-step guide for aspiring entrepreneurs to transform their ideas into reality.
- Entrepreneurs Connect (Every Thursday in October): A weekly networking event where business owners can share ideas, challenges, and success stories.
- Brampton Ignite (Wednesday, October 16, 2024): A dynamic event designed to spark new business ideas and foster collaboration among local entrepreneurs.
- Holiday Magic – Visual Merchandising Workshop (Monday, October 21, 2024): A hands-on workshop that helps small retail businesses create eye-catching displays ahead of the holiday shopping season.
In addition to the programming, the BEC will extend its hours starting October 1. It will now be open Monday to Friday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm to provide even more opportunities for entrepreneurs to access resources, guidance, co-working and support.
The City of Brampton’s commitment to fostering a climate for business to succeed is demonstrated through the ongoing efforts of EDO and BEC, serving as key resources for small business owners. By offering business information, guidance, training and mentorship, BEC plays a pivotal role in helping position entrepreneurs for success.
