BRAMPTON, ON (August 20, 2024) – The wait is almost over! Tomorrow night, City of Brampton Mayor Patrick Brown and Councillors will host the largest charity hockey game in Canada and we’re excited to announce that NHL legends Shayne Corson and Kris Versteeg will be joining the star-studded lineup for Hockey Night in Brampton 2024. These seasoned players bring a wealth of experience and energy to what promises to be an unforgettable event.

In addition to Corson and Versteeg, Hockey Night in Brampton is also thrilled to welcome rising NHL star Zayne Parekh, Tyson Gilmour, son of hockey legend Doug Gilmour, and former NHL forward Jason Ward to the roster.

This year’s game will see Leafs’ teammates Max Domi and Mitch Marner face off as opposing team captains, adding an extra layer of excitement to the event. Returning coaches Wendel Clark and Doug Gilmour are set to lead the teams once again, with Coach Gilmour eager to defend his title as last year’s winner. Leaf’s legend Daryl Sittler will start the night with the ceremonial puck drop, marking the beginning of an exciting third season of this incredible fundraiser.

Last year, the event raised $1,000,000 for the Osler Foundation. This year, the City aims to exceed that number to help build Brampton’s second hospital. As one of the busiest community hospital systems in Canada, Osler plays a vital role in our community’s health and well-being. The City of Brampton is committed to enhancing local healthcare services through initiatives like Hockey Night in Brampton and ensuring residents have access to specialized care close to home.

The City extends its gratitude to Hockey Night in Brampton’s Presenting Sponsor Panattoni Development Company Canada. We also thank our Changemaker Sponsors Great Gulf, DG Group, Paradise Developments, Capital Power, Holborn Group, Pattison, ARGO, Labourers International Union of North America (LiUNA) and Charger Logistics for their generous support.
