Previously announced coaches Wendel Clark and Doug Gilmour are excited to be back, with Coach Gilmour ready to defend his title as last year’s champ. This year's lineup also features former NHL defenseman and Canadian gold medalist, Chris Pronger, along with star players from the Women’s Canadian National team, Tessa Bonhomme and Renata Fast. NHL players Dylan Strome, Erik Gudbranson, Cole Perfetti, Liam Foudy and Jack McBain, alongside Hockey Hall of Famer Chris Chelios and former NHL and Brampton Battalion player Cody Hodgson, will also be taking to the ice. Iconic Toronto Maple Leafs legend Daryl Sittler will kick off season three of this important local fundraiser with the puck drop. 

Last year, the event raised $1,000,000 for the Osler Foundation. This year, the City aims to exceed that number to further support the development of Brampton’s second hospital. As one of the busiest community hospital systems in Canada, Osler plays a vital role in our community’s health and well-being. The City of Brampton is committed to enhancing local health care services through initiatives like Hockey Night in Brampton, ensuring residents have access to specialized care close to home.

Mitch Marner was drafted No. 4 by the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2015. Marner made the NHL All-Rookie team in 2016-17 with 61 points, helping the Leafs reach the playoffs for the first time since 2013. He continued to excel, reaching career highs in the 2018-19 season with 94 points (26 goals, 68 assists). Marner earned a spot in the 2020 NHL All-Star Game and finished the season with 67 points in 59 games.

In the 2021-22 season, Marner scored 97 points in 72 games, contributing to the Leafs' record-setting 50 wins and 106 points. He broke a franchise record with a 23-game point streak in 2022 and reached the 500-point milestone in his 467th game, the second fewest in team history. Marner finished the 2022-23 season with a career-high 99 points, averaging 21:17 of ice time and leading Maple Leafs forwards in takeaways and blocked shots. His defensive prowess earned him his first nomination for the Selke Award.

Launched in 2019 by Brampton Mayor Patrick Brown, Hockey Night in Brampton is a charity hockey game proudly supporting community health care programs through the William Osler Health System Foundation (Osler Foundation). In two years, the event has raised over $1.4 million for Osler Foundation with $1 million going towards Brampton’s second hospital and over $400,000 supporting cardiac care.
