​BRAMPTON, ON (March 27, 2024) –The City of Brampton has received the Canadian Award for Financial Reporting (CAnFR) from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) of the United States and Canada. This is the 22nd time the City has received this reward. 

Every year, the award recognizes the highest standard in government accounting and financial reporting. This year, the award is presented for the 2022 Annual Financial Report​ and recognizes excellence in government accounting and financial reporting. 

The City won the award by preparing and publishing a comprehensive yet easy-to-read, high-quality annual report. The report exceeded the minimum requirements of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles set out by the Public Sector Accounting Board of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada and communicated a clear picture of the City’s financial health, promoting transparency with residents. 

This award represents the City of Brampton’s commitment to high-quality standards in financial reporting and transparency with residents. ​
