BRAMPTON, ON (October 13, 2021) – Today, the World Council on City Data (WCCD) announced that the City of Brampton has received ISO 37120 Platinum-level certification, the highest standard in collecting, sharing and using data to effectively make decisions, for the second consecutive year.
The City satisfied the requirement for the highest-level, reporting more than 90 of the 104 indicators within WCCD's ISO 37120 standard, as part of the Government of Canada supported Data for Canadian Cities Project (DCCP), joining a select group of more than 100 global cities across 35 countries – and 30 across Canada – who are collecting, sharing, and using city data to make effective and transformative decisions.
As a member of the WCCD Global Network, the City shares local experiences and benchmarks against other data-driven cities across the world to improve services and the quality of life of residents. Brampton will, with its WCCD Global Network partners, measure social, economic and environmental indicators to continue to build a smart, sustainable, resilient, prosperous and inclusive community.

Equipping city leaders across Canada with high-caliber, comparable, and independently verified municipal data, the Data for Canadian Cities Project is a transformative, three-year, Canada-wide project that is currently underway in fifteen data-driven municipalities across the country.
