Hosted by the Urban Land Institute in collaboration with the City of Brampton, City of Helsinki, Greenberg Consultants and University of Toronto School of Cities, hear from industry experts on the opportunity to transform the Uptown Shoppers World site into a “20-minute walkable neighbourhood” with an urban community hub that is a high-density, mixed-use, family-friendly, healthy and walkable transit-oriented community.

DETAILS: Unlocking Transit-Oriented Communities (TOC): How to Capture the Value of a “26-hour City” builds on the momentum of the October 2 town hall where 200 participants from across Canada, the United States and Helsinki, Finland shared their professional viewpoints during a 3-hour brainstorming session.
With the LRT coming in 2024, the Uptown Brampton Hurontario-Steeles area is experiencing substantial transformation into a high-density, mixed-use, family-oriented, healthy, and walkable transit-oriented community, taking shape through the combined interests of provincial, regional, municipal, private sector and community interests.
