BRAMPTON, ON (January 15, 2024) – January is Tamil Heritage Month, a time to celebrate the history of Canada’s Tamil community and their contribution to the social, cultural, political, and economic strength of Canada. Today also marks the beginning of Thai Pongal, a multi-day Hindu festival celebrated by Tamils.

To celebrate, the City of Brampton invites the community to City Hall on January 28 to enjoy live performances, sample traditional cuisine, and learn more about the rich history and culture of the Tamil community, in partnership with the Brampton Tamil Association and Brampton Tamil Seniors Association.
