​Summer is officially here, and the City of Brampton is thrilled to announce a vibrant lineup of events and activities that promise to make this season unforgettable for residents and visitors alike. From cultural festivals to outdoor adventures, Brampton offers something for everyone to enjoy under the sun. Brampton 50th Birthday Bash

The City of Brampton is celebrating its 50th birthday and residents are invited to come celebrate this milestone and commemorate 50 vibrant years of Brampton since its incorporation as a city in 1974.

Hockey Night in Brampton 

The City of Brampton is excited to announce the return of Hockey Night in Brampton this August, in support of William Osler Health System Foundation (Osler Foundation). Coaches Wendel Clark and Doug Gilmour are excited to come back for another year and as the returning champ, Coach Gilmour is ready to play. Proceeds from ticket sales will benefit William Osler Health System (Osler) to build Brampton’s new Peel Memorial Hospital. Tickets for the game are $25 and can be purchased at Hockeynightbrampton.ca​

Garden Square Watch Parties

Don’t miss the excitement of Garden Square Watch Parties, where fans can gather to cheer on their favourite sports teams on the big screen in the heart of downtown Brampton. Visitors to Garden Square are encouraged to bring a lawn chair as seating is limited. This year’s lineup includes ICC T20 World Cup, Copa America, Euro Cup, Blue Jays Sundays and Paris 2024 Summer Olympic Games. Visit this website​ for the full schedule. 

Celebrate summer with Brampton On Stage 

Enjoy a full lineup of summer shows and events at The Rose and Garden Square. Through July and August, residents and visitors are invited to enjoy free outdoor programming in Garden Square, perfect for all ages, including movie nights, music festivals, live entertainment, and more, all summer long. Brampton Farmers' Market

The Brampton Farmers’ Market returns this season with a new location in downtown Brampton. Presented by National Homes and Brixen Developments, this year’s market is located on Main Street South from Queen Street West to Wellington Street West and Ken Whillans Square. The market will run every Saturday, from 8 am to 1 pm, rain or shine until October 12. Learn more at Brampton.ca/markets​

Mount Pleasant Night Market 

The Mount Pleasant Night Market will take place on Thursday, July 18 and August 15, from 4 to 8 pm, in Mount Pleasant Village Square. Attendees can indulge in street food, sweet treats, unique local fare and gourmet delights. Enjoy free kids’ activities and live entertainment while having an evening out with family and friends. Movie Under the Stars

Throughout July and August, families, friends, residents and visitors can enjoy free outdoor movie nights beginning in the evening. On select Fridays and Saturdays, movies and pre-show activities will take place at four venues across the city:

  • Garden Square, 12 Main St. N., Brampton, ON (two movies per night)

Brampton Library 

Brampton Library branches will be full of excitement all summer with great programs and events for all ages! For children from birth to age 12, there is a wide range of programs available all summer long including Canada Learning Code, Drumming for Kids, Moccasin Identifier Workshop, Planetarium, Science Explorations: Circuit City, Storytime Adventures and Writing Workshops. 

Book lovers of all ages are invited to join one of the many Summer Reading Clubs, registration and admission is free. Kicking off the Adult Summer Reading Club is the after-hours Summer Soiree at Chinguacousy Branch Library where all club members over the age of 19 are invited to attend.

For teens, don’t miss Battle of the Books, a bracket-style tournament in five rounds with 13 titles in contention! Vote for your favourites at any library branch. Discover more at Bramptonlibrary.ca.​

Explore Brampton’s parks, trails and pathways

Hike, bike or walk along one of Brampton’s recreational trail systems, which offer more than 600 kilometres of guided and paved recreational trails and cycling infrastructure across the city.

Free Tim Hortons drop-in public swims

Generously sponsored by Tim Hortons, the City of Brampton is offering free drop-in public swims for all ages from July 2 to September 1. Participating locations include:

Free drop-in Badminton by 407 ETR

Generously sponsored by 407 ETR, the City of Brampton is hosting free summer drop-in family badminton programs for ages 4 and older from July 3 to September 1 at the following locations:

Free Fitness in the Park 

Stay active and healthy this summer with free outdoor fitness programs such as Zumba, Yoga and Family bootcamp for individuals 14 years old and older! While registration is recommended, it is not required, walk-ins are welcome and will be accommodated. Visit Brampton.ca/fitnessinthepark ​for the schedule of fitness classes in the park. 

Register for the Youth Cricket League

The City of Brampton launched a new initiative to bring cricket to more youth in Brampton. Beginning July 2, the City will kick off the first-ever Youth Cricket League

The league will have three age groups for youth ages six to 15 and will run for nine weeks throughout the summer. Registration for the league is now open.

Go to the beach at Professor’s Lake

Professor's Lake Beach, Boathouse and Inflatable Water Park will open for the season on June 27 (weather and water quality permitting). The snack bar and change rooms will also be available for use on this date. 

To protect the health and safety of patrons, Professor's Lake water quality is tested daily by the Region of Peel. If test findings reveal poor water quality, the lake will close and continue to be tested daily until the water quality becomes acceptable. Residents and visitors are encouraged to check Professor's Lake’s status online.

Enjoy a picnic or swim in the pool at Eldorado Park 

Eldorado Park is an outdoor community space where individuals and families can enjoy nature in Brampton. The park features a picnic area, playgrounds, access to the Credit River and an outdoor swimming pool. On July 8 the outdoor pool will open for the season, weather permitting. For more information about Eldorado Park, the pool’s operational status, and to book a picnic area, visit Brampton.ca/summerfun.

Visit a splash pad and wading pool

Residents and visitors looking for a place to splash and play to escape the heat can visit any of the City’s 18 splash pads or the wading pool.

Individuals are encouraged to visit the City’s website ahead of their visit to ensure splash pads and the wading pool are open. Closures may occur due to inclement weather, such as outside temperatures less than 20°C or rain.

Peel Village Golf Course 

The City of Brampton Peel Village Golf Course is open for the season. Located at 29A Hartford Trail in Brampton (south of Steeles Avenue and west of Kennedy), the course is open to the public and individuals of all skill levels. Tee times can be booked in advance online​, over the phone at 905.874.2995 or by walk-in. For more information about Peel Village Golf Course, visit Brampton.ca/peelvillage​. ​

Explore the City with the Brampton Discovery Youth Pass 

The new Brampton Discovery Youth Pass for youth ages 13 to 18 encourages individuals to experience City facilities, take part in engaging activities, attend exclusive events and create unforgettable memories across the city by highlighting all Brampton has to offer. When visiting a participating location, simply use your phone to check in and earn points! Points can be used to redeem a prize at the end of the season.
