Adam started working at the City of Brampton via the co-op program in 2013. He was then hired on for the summer to work as an Assistant Stage Manager for the Shakespeare in the Square Festival. He then stayed on part time to work events like Rib and Roll Festival, Classic Cars and Legendary Stars Festival and other events at the Heritage Theatre, Lester B Pearson & Cyril Clark Theatre. In 2006 Adam was a member of the team that helped equip and set up The Rose theatre for its official opening gala featuring Diana Krall. Adam stayed with the City for another 9 years until he eventually landed a full-time position as a Theatre General Operator, running the lights, sound & video and setting up different stages and stage lines. Adam says, “This job has provided me wonderful opportunities to experience a variety of shows from all cultural backgrounds and I wouldn't trade for the world. The hours can be tough and long but the rewards are worth it.”

Amir Majid

Amir Majid graduated from the University of Western Ontario with an honours degree in Social Justice and Peace and Religious Studies. After school with a focus on advocacy and social justice, Amir built his career as a corporate fundraiser working with non-profits and charities both locally and nationally including the United Way, and Habitat for Humanity, raising funds for these organizations in excess of $3,000,000. Building from his experience as a corporate fundraiser he began to play roles as a funder, first as a grants and fundraising professional with the Halton District School Board and then in Corporate Social Responsibility with Aviva Canada. After this, Amir managed grant programs with Community Foundation of Mississauga overseeing a total grant portfolio of over $1,000,000 annually. Now, Amir is responsible for Non-Profit and Charitable grants with the City of Brampton making grants that total over $1,500,000. Along with grant making work, in Brampton, Amir is also responsible for providing valuable capacity building training to the Non-Profit sector in Brampton.
