Submissions are now open for the 2023 Brampton Urban Design Awards.

The Brampton Urban Design Awards are returning this year following the pandemic. Every two years, the Brampton Urban Design Awards celebrate urban design excellence within the city and those who make our public spaces and places thrive, including city-builders, urban designers, architects, landscape architects, artists and design students. The event was last held in 2019 as awards were not presented in 2021 during the COVID-19 pandemic. This year, the City is accepting applications from a four-year timeline (2019-2023).

This year’s theme is ‘Inclusivity – By Design’, as we collectively work to enhance our built and natural landscapes to support an aging population, sustainability, accessibility, safety, equity, health and wellbeing.

Submissions are open until June 9, 2023. To learn more about the application process for submissions and how to become a juror, visit the webpage at www.brampton.ca/budawards.

Jury members will evaluate all eligible submissions and entries will also be entered for a People’s Choice Award, where the public will be able to cast votes online for a favourite project.
Winners will be announced at a City of Brampton City-Building event in October.

These awards promote and celebrate innovation, creativity, and design excellence in the delivery of high-quality, sustainable, and inclusive urban-built environments in Brampton as we continue to build a city where all can thrive.
