​Guidelines

  • ​CSA approved hockey helmets and full facemasks are strongly recommended for all skating participants.
  • No horseplay.
  • No spraying or throwing snow.
  • No food/drink, headsets, cellphone, or other handheld electronic devices are permitted on the ice.
  • No carrying of other (e.g. babies or young children) while on the ice surface.
  • Private lessons/coaching on the ice surface is strictly prohibited.
  • All accidents or injuries must be reported to staff immediately.
  • The City of Brampton Good Behaviour Guidelines must be adhered to at all times.
  • Participants are not permitted on the ice while the ice resurfacer is in operation.​
  • Skates are the only type of footwear permitted on the ice.​

Yes, washrooms are available at all locations. ​

A food truck will be onsite at Chinguacousy Park according to the following schedule*:

  • Friday 5:30 – 10 pm 
  • Saturday 11 am – 10 pm
  • Sunday 11 am - 8 pm
*Please note shortened holiday hours between December 20-24 & 27-31 are 11 am to 8 pm.

Food and beverages will not be available for purchase at any other locations.

Skate aids may be permitted at outdoor ice rinks based on spacing constraints, on-ice participation numbers and staff discretion. Participants using skate aids are required to provide and use their own CSA approved hockey helmet with full facemask. Skate aids may be provided by the City of Brampton, however, will only be available when skate staff are present.
 
Participants may bring their own professionally manufactured skate aid provided that the device does not damage the ice surface, have sharp edges, and/or pose a hazard. Participants using personal skate aids are required to provide their own CSA approved hockey helmet with full face mask. Homemade teaching aids are prohibited. Please note that the patrons are responsible for the safety and security of their own equipment.

Rentals are available on Thursday and Friday evenings from 5 – 9:45 pm and Saturday and Sundays from 10 am – 9:45 pm (weather permitting).

Additional Info

The Region of Peel’s Outdoor Smoking By-law, effective September 2, 2013, makes it against the law to smoke outdoors within nine metres (30 feet) of: 

  • Entrances and exits of municipal buildings
  • Playground areas
  • Sports/activity areas

​In addition, the City supports outdoor community rinks. These are small, neighbourhood-based rinks maintained by a local neighbourhood rink committee, with the support of the City.

For more information about volunteering to support an outdoor community rink in your neighbourhood park, contact Parks Maintenance and Operations at BramptonGreenCity@brampton.ca​​.

For the safety and enjoyment of our patrons, the following rules/guidelines shall apply to recreational skates:

  • Participants under ten (10) years of age must be under the constant supervision of a parent or guardian at least fourteen (14) years of age or older.
  • Canadian Standards Association (CSA) certified hockey helmets and full facemasks are strongly recommended for all Recreational Skate participants.​
Please refrain from the following on the ice surface:
  • Tag, horseplay, spraying or throwing of snow.
  • No food/drink, headsets, cellphones or other handheld electronic devices are permitted on the ice surface.
  • Backward or Figure Skating (follow the skate direction).
  • The use of strollers, chairs. City-provided skate aids are available at select outdoor locations.
  • Footwear other than ice skates.
  • Carrying others (eg. Babies or young children).
  • Hockey sticks.
  • Entering ice surface while being resurfaced.
  • Advanced skaters are not permitted in the beginner area for safety reasons.
  • Private lessons/coaching on the ice surface is strictly prohibited.

  • Skate guards may be present for your safety.
  • All accidents or injuries must be reported to staff immediately.
  • The City of Brampton Good Behaviour Guidelines must be adhered to at all times.
  • Participants with serious medical conditions should be accompanied by individuals knowledgeable of their condition and responsible for their direct supervision.
