Project Updates
Brampton Transit is working closely with Metrolinx, the Provincial Government agency responsible for leading the Hazel McCallion LRT. The project team has committed to informing the public and stakeholders with as much notice as possible of potential disruptions.
Major construction began in Spring 2020. The construction period is expected to bring impacts and disruptions to residents and businesses.
Construction Updates
City of Brampton staff continues to work with and support Metrolinx on design and construction of the Hazel McCallion Line. Design and construction activities are ongoing for the Hazel McCallion LRT, concurrently within the cities of Brampton and Mississauga. A
comprehensive list of construction updates is available on the Metrolinx website.
Within the City of Brampton, construction is currently focused on utility installation and road widening . Construction of the Operations, Maintenance and Storage Facility (OMSF) on Kennedy Road is nearing completion. We expect to see more work within the future guideway for the LRT in 2025 and 2026.
