The Hurontario LRT (HuLRT) will bring 18 kilometres of fast, reliable, rapid transit along the Hurontario corridor. It will form part of a seamless integrated regional transportation network that will connect Brampton with the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area (GTHA). It is a city-building and region-connecting project that will transform Hurontario Street into a vibrant people-oriented corridor connecting communities and accommodating growth anticipated over the next 30 years.
Metrolinx is working with the cities of Brampton and Mississauga on the HuLRT, which is funded through a $1.4 billion commitment from the Province of Ontario as part of the Province’s Moving Ontario Forward plan.
The HuLRT will serve 19 stops along the corridor between the Brampton Gateway Terminal at Steeles Avenue and the Port Credit GO station in Mississauga. It will make connections to Brampton Transit including Brampton Züm as well as GO Transit’s Milton and Lakeshore West rail lines, Mississauga MiWay, and the Mississauga Transitway along Highway 403.
The City of Brampton Hurontario LRT project team is working in collaboration with Metrolinx to incorporate Brampton’s requirements into the project. This includes the design of the Gateway Terminal stop and other LRT stops, streetscape and public realm, and connections to Brampton Transit and other transit services. Construction work is scheduled to begin in late 2018 and expected to be completed by the end of 2024.

What's happening within Brampton?
- Three (3) LRT stops: Ray Lawson, County Court, and Brampton Gateway Terminal.
- The Operations, Maintenance and Storage Facility (OMSF) will be located within Brampton, south of Highway 407 ETR.
