The City of Brampton's Leaf Vacuum Program started on Monday, October 28, 2004, and will continue until mid December 2024. The program end date can be adjusted, depending on weather and the volume of falling leaves.
The Fall Leaf Program includes collecting leaves from homes in downtown Bramtpon and in the Churchville Neighbourhood. Notices have been delivered to program residents. All other areas are serviced by the Region of Peel's Waste Collection Program. Each street is identified on the map. Please note, private streets and condominium corporations in leaf collection zones do not receive the program.
Using leaf vacuum vehicles, work crews collect the leaves residents rake to the curb. The program is provided in partnership with the Region of Peel in neighbourhoods which have a large volume of leaves, by providing recycling services at the Region of Peel’s Composting Facility.
Preparing for leaf pickup:
- For Downtown and Churchville neighbourhoods, rake your leaves into a neat pile on the boulevard’s edge or into your ditch a day or two before the start of your collection
- Do not mix other items such as wood, bricks, or brush as they can damage equipment and injure workers
- Keep the road and curbside storm drains clear of raked leaves
- Do not place garbage bags or bins on top of loose-leaf piles
- Remove parked cars and sports equipment from the road
