As of June 2024, all residents of Brampton 70 years of age ​and older can access Recreation services for fre​e!

Older adults can visit any City of Brampton Recreation Centre to sign-up for a yearly membership. The free annual pass will be added to their Recreation Registration account.

Residents age 70 and older will have access to the following services at no cost:​

  • Racquet membership
  • Swimming and skating membership
  • Walking track membership
  • Most general programs
  • Swimming and skating group lessons
  • Aquafit drop-ins
  • Fitness drop-ins
  • Public swims and skates
  • Shinny and shoot around drop-ins
  • Sports drop-ins
  • Dance drop-in
  • Most general interest drop-ins​
  • Group Fitness programs

​The following documents are required to complete verification. Once verified, staff will take a photo of the membership holder and add it to the account.

Proof of Brampton Address
  • Driver’s License or Ontario Photo ID Card 
  • Household bill (telephone, TV, hydro, gas or water) 
  • Bank or Credit Card Statement 
  • Statement of Government Benefits (employment insurance, old age security, social assistance 
  • or disability support) 
  • Property Tax Bill 
  • Revenue Canada Notice of Assessment
 
Proof of Identity
  • Driver’s License or Ontario Photo ID Card 
  • Passport 
  • Permanent Resident Card 
  • Provincial Health Card (red/white version is not acceptable) 
  • Canadian Birth Certificate (only if presented with a valid piece of photo ID)
 
Proof of Canadian Citizenship or Permanent Residency

Your annual membership fee will be withdrawn, and a pro-rated refund will be issued as an account credit based on the date of your request​.

Free recreation services applies to registrations made after the activation of the 70+ membership​

After the activation date, register for free services online or in-person.​

Visit your nearest Recreation Centre​ to complete the verification process. Memberships will be active as of June 1. Once active, you will be able to register for programs and services in-person or online with your Recreation Registration Account.​

​You must be 70 years of age or older, a resident of Brampton and show proof of Canadian citizenship or permanent residency to be eligible for the 70+ Free Recreation Membership.

​You will be required to renew your free annual membership on an annual basis. The free annual pass can be renewed at any Recreation Centre. Your membership is eligible for renewal up to 8 weeks prior to expiry.

The following is required at the time of renewal: 

  1. Proof of Brampton Address
  2. Proof of Identity

Please note: this program is subject to change upon Brampton Council approval.

A Flower City Seniors Centre membership is still required to access programs and services operated out of this location. Most programs operated out of Bob Callahan Flower City Seniors Centre​ ​are included in this initiative. Some exceptions apply.​
