Fitness Admission

​Fitness Memberships: 

Includes CITYWIDE access to fitness facilities, weight rooms & indoor tracks, public swims & skate, shinny, squash & racquetball court, select group fitness & aquafit classes, a free fitness consultation.  Discounts may apply on Personal Training sessions and registered group fitness programs.  

Swim & Skate Membership:

Includes CITYWIDE access to public swimming, skating & shinny.  Adult Shinny, Aquafit drop-ins and Aqua Rehabilitation are not included in this membership, refer to Fitness Membership for additional membership options.

Racquet Membership:

Includes CITYWIDE access to squash and racquetball courts.  CBRA Racquetball Memberships are valid at Chris Gibson and Ellen Mitchell, for additional information please contact the facility directly.  ​

​Members are required to present/scan their valid membership card at the front desk prior to entering the Fitness area. Memberships are valid for single person use and are not transferable.​

Adult – refers to a person 18-54 years of age. 

Adult 55+ – refers to a person 55 years of age and older. 

Privileged Senior – refers to a person 70 years of age and older. Proof of age is required and applies to Recreational Swimming & Skating, Walking, Track and Fitness.

Student – 18 - 54 (with student ID) 

Teen – refers to a person 14 - 17 years of age. 

Child – refers to a person 13 years of age and under ​

Non-residents are required to pay an additional surcharge of 30% per person, per program, per session and per membership, unless otherwise noted. The surcharge is included in the registration or membership fee.​

​A monthly payment plan is available for annual Fitness and Neighbourhood Memberships.  The membership fee is divided into 12 equal payments, with the first month paid at time of registration.  The remaining 11 months are scheduled each month based on the date of registration.  

Only annual memberships are eligible for withdrawal, effective as of the requested date. Membership withdrawals are subject to an administration fee. Withdrawals are not permitted for short-term memberships, including ten times tickets, one month memberships and senior centre memberships.

​Failure to adhere to the rules and regulations may result in suspension of or termination of your membership privileges.  ​

Membership freeze requests are subject to an administration fee per person, per membership and are offered in any duration up to a maximum of forty-two (42) days, provided that the requested length does not exceed the remaining length of time left on the membership. Consideration will only be given for those requests provided prior to the absence.​

​Members are encouraged to participate in a complimentary fitness consultation upon the purchase of their membership. Consultations can be booked at the Customer Service Desk in any Recreation Centre or with Fitness staff at the time of membership purchase.​

​It is recommended that all members consult a physician prior to the start of any physical activity.​

​Soliciting products or services at or on City of Brampton property is strictly prohibited, including personal training that is not provided by the City of Brampton.​

​While enjoying fitness facilities, please be courteous to fellow members and observe the following standards:

 

  • Clean fitness equipment with sanitizing wipes after use
  • Fitness equipment is used for its intended purpose only
  • Put away equipment after use
  • Do not drop weights (use a spotter if required) and use collars on weight bars
  • Limit your time on cardio equipment to thirty (30) minutes
  • Be mindful of patrons with allergies/sensitivity if you use scented products

 

Please note that personal belongings (gym bags, coats, etc.) food and/or glass containers, and personal equipment/accessories (chalk, chains, weight pins, etc.) are not permitted in the fitness area.

​Proper athletic clothing (including a top and bottom) and indoor athletic shoes that are dry and clean must be worn in all fitness areas. Please do not wear excessively loose and long flowing clothes, chains, belts, sandals, flip flops, boots, and outdoor footwear.​

​Members are encouraged to always leave valuable items at home. Lockers are on a first-come, first-served basis; locks are not provided by the facility. Lockers are strictly for day use only; locks left overnight will be cut and all contents will be subject to removal. The City of Brampton is not responsible for lost or stolen items.​

Memberships are not automatically renewed. You are responsible for renewing your membership prior to expiry. This can be done through any of our available registration methods​. Only customers with a valid membership will be given access to recreation facilities.​
