Join City staff, the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority and the Heart Lake Turtle Troopers for an exciting adventure exploring the wetlands of Conservation Dr Park and Paul Palleschi Park. During this guided walk, you'll learn about the ongoing restoration efforts as part of the Etobicoke Creek Wetlands Enhancement Project. Discover the rich local wetland ecology and hear how the Heart Lake Turtle Troopers are playing a vital role in protecting Brampton's turtle species.

Conservation Dr. Park Community Planting Event: June 1st

Join the City of Brampton and the TRCA for an exciting community planting event, contributing to the Etobicoke Creek Wetlands Enhancement Project! 🌳 Be a part of planting over 200 trees and shrubs encircling one of our vibrant wetlands at Conservation Dr. Park! Discover more about the wetlands enhancement efforts happening at Loafers Lake and Park, as well as Conservation Dr. Park.

It's not just about planting trees; it's about revitalizing Brampton's natural spaces while earning volunteer hours! 🌿

This event is made possible through the Ontario Wetlands Conservation Partnership Program.

📅 Event Details:

  • Saturday, June 1st, 10 am - 12 pm, registration is required.
  • To register for the event click here.
  • A BBQ lunch of hotdogs and hamburgers will be served with vegetarian options. Water bottle refill will be available. ​

Heart Lake Turtle Troopers

The Heart Lake Turtle Troopers' mission is to protect and monitor Brampton's local turtle population through a citizen science volunteer program. Volunteer with them to monitor turtles and nests, raise community awareness, recruit volunteers, and help organize public engagement activities. The HLTT Are active at Loafers Lake and Conservation Drive Park while the Etobicoke Creek Wetlands Enhancement Project occurs. Visit Heart Lake Turtle Troopers to get involved.
