Grow Green Awards Ceremony
The Grow Green Awards Ceremony celebrates individuals, businesses, and organizations from across the city that have demonstrated strong commitment to advancing the Grow Geen Vision to conserve, enhance and balance our natural and built environment to create a healthy, sustainable and resilient Brampton. The 2024 Grow Green Awards will be presented to recipients during the Ceremony.
This free family-friendly event will also include:
- Stormwater Pond Tours: Join the Stormwater Program at 2:00pm and 2:30pm to learn more about stormwater ponds in Brampton
- Kids Zone
- Cyanotype Workshops at 11:45am and 2:00pm
- Interactive public art installation
- Litter pick-up
- Festival showcasing environmental leadership across the City of Brampton
Sacred Fire Ceremony
Opening: 12-12:30pm | Closing: 3:30-4pm
Gokoomis (Grandmother) Vivan and Dr. Hopi Martin from Edge of the Bush will be facilitating an Opening and Closing Ceremony with a Sacred Fire. They will be accompanied by Oshkaabewis (Sacred Helper) Tabitha Shurgold. Photography of the Sacred Fire is not permitted.
Lunch
A free lunch will be provided upon registration for a food voucher.

Getting to Gore Meadows Community Centre
To celebrate Earth Day, please bike, walk or take public transit to support sustainable actions for Earth Day. Parking for the event is in the south lot, overflow parking is located at Castlemore Public School, which is a 10-15min walk to Gore Meadows Skating Rink.
Join one of four BikeBrampton-led rides to the event, visit
www.bikebrampton.ca/events/ for more information. Extra bike racking will be available at Gore Meadows Community Centre. All ride leave at 10:15am. Ride-In registration closes on Friday, April 19th at 5:00pm.
