​Advance Brampton Fund

​The City of Brampton recognizes the unique and valuable role that the non-profit sector plays in delivering projects that meet community needs and complement City services. The Advance Brampton Fund is a community granting program that supports non-profit sector development and provides municipal funding to eligible Brampton-based non-profit or charitable organizations for strong project proposals that align with the following priority areas:

  • Arts and Culture
  • Recreation
  • Community Safety​​

2024/2025 Announcements

  • The 2025 Advance Brampton Fund is now open, see below for links to applications. The deadline for application submission is September 30, 2024.

  • 2024 Advance Brampton Fund opportunities are closed for 2024. Congratulations to all of the 2024 grant recipients.

  • 2024 Grant Close Out Reports are available for projects that have completed. Reports are due no later than 60 days post the project end date in your application or by December 31, 2024 in Amplifying and Developing and February 11, 2025 in the New and Small Projects Stream - whichever comes first.

  • Spaces are still available for remaining Non-Profit Sector Development Seminars. Please use the links below to register, if spaces are sold out for the seminar you are interested in you can add your information to the wait list for an opportunity to attend, should one become available.​

Available Funding Streams​

The 2025 Advance Brampton Fund is now accepting applications.​​ Please use the 'APPLY' buttons below to access the application portal. Applications are due no later than September 30, 2024 at 11:59pm.

New and Small Projects - AP​​PLY

Eligible Organizations: Registered Charities, Incorporated Non-Profits and Unincorpor​ated Non-Profit Groups
Project Types: New projects or existing projects with small funding needs.
Grant Term: Projects must take place between January 1, 2025 and December 31, 2025 with all expenses charged and paid during this period.
Maximum Available Grant: Up to $5,000 (Please note the removal of the match requirement in this funding stream).
Application Intake: September 2 - September 30​​

​Developing - APP​​LY

Eligible Organizations: Registered Charities and Incorporated Non-Profits
Project Types: Projects must have been delivered at least once before in the City of Brampton
Grant Term: Projects must take place between January 1st 2025 and December 31, 2025 with all expenses charged and paid during this period.
Maximum Available Grant: Up to $12,500 in matching project funds
Application Intake: September 2 - September 30

Amplifying - APPL​Y

Eligible Organizations: Registered Charities and Incorporated Non-Profits.
Project Types: Projects must have been delivered at least twice before in the City of Brampton.
Grant Term: Projects must take place between January 1st, 2025 and December 31, 2025 with expenses charged and paid during this period.
Maximum Available Grant: Up to $25,000 in matching project funds.
Application Intake: September 2 - September 30

​Important Notes for All Streams

  • Only one (1) application to the Advance Brampton Fund will be accepted. Applicants must select one of the streams above to apply within.
  • All applicant organizations must carry $2,000,000 in Commercial General Liability Insurance from the time the application is submitted until the end of the project duration as outlined within the application.
  • All projects must take place between January 1, 2025 and December 31, 2025

G​rant Information S​essions

​2025 Advance Brampton Fund Grant Information Sessions take place in August. Sessions are provided for each stream of funding and one session provided on all three streams. 2025 Grant Information Sessions will take place in August 13, August 22 and August 27 2024. Sessions will cover grant timelines, eligiblity, responding to application questions and a highlight relevant grant writing strategies. It is recommended all those who are planning to apply for a grant attend at least one of the sessions. Registrations for these sessions, and once completed, recordings of the sessions will also be available below:

Brampton Non-Profit & Charitable Sector Development Learning Series​

The Advance Brampton Fund in partnership wit​h The G. Raymond Chang School of Continuing Education at Toronto Metropolitan University is presenting a limited online seminar series to support the development​ and growth of the non-profit and charitable sectors in Brampton. The 2023 program year will offer 8 seminars covering topics that range from marketing to project evaluation to strategic planning. Sessions are offered only once. Register now because attendance is limited to 30 participants and spaces will fill up fast.​

6 virtual beginner level courses are offered this year and 2 in person advanced level seminars are offered. In order to attend the advanced level seminars registrants must have attended the beginner, virtually delivered, seminar on the same topic at least once before between 2022 and 2024.

Meeting links to virtual seminars will be emailed to those registered on the day of the event. The location of in person sessions will be provided to those eligible to attend on the day of the seminar. Those who have not met pre-requisites for attendance in advanced seminars will be notified via email of their ineligibility to attend.

All Streams Grant Information Session on 2024 Close Out Reporting

2024 Advance Brampton Fund Grant recipients must submit a Close Out Report to report on the impact and financials of their funded project. Close Out Reports are due 60 days after your project end date provided in the application or by December 31, 2024. If you received a New and Small Projects Grant of $5,000 or less and your project end date is less than 60 days from December 31, 2024 you have an extended window to submit your close out report until February 11, 2024. Organizations that do not submit close out reports may become ineligible for future funding. Organizations that submit late close out reports may lose final payments associated with their grants and organizations will not receive future funding until a close out report has been approved.
