Flags at all City of Brampton facilities will be lowered until March 23, 2024 the day of the State Funeral that will be held in memory of The Right Honourable Brian Mulroney PC CC GOQ, Canada's 18th Prime Minister who passed away on February 29, 2024.

Flags at City Hall and all Brampton Fire and Emergency Services facilities will be at half mast on March 6, 2024, in memory of Bruce Patterson. He began his career with Brampton Fire and Emergency Services (BFES) in 2000 and worked out of Station 211 on “D" Platoon.

Michael began his career at the City of Brampton in 2004 and joined the Transit family in 2005 as Supervisor of Business Systems.
In memory of Fire Prevention Officer Charles (Chun Chi) Li

Flags at City Hall will be lowered from sunrise to sunset June 14, 2024 in memory of Fire Prevention Officer Charles (Chun Chi) Li. Flags will be half mast at all BFES Facilities until the day of the funeral.
Charles began his career with Brampton Fire and Emergency Services (BFES) in 2015. He will be remembered for his radiant smile and cheerful nature. Charles cared deeply for his fellow BFES teammates and was proud to be a part of the Fire service.

Luke began his career with BFES in 2022 and worked out of Fire Station 204 on Bravo Platoon.

Coates served as a City Alderman from January 1977 to December 1980

Flags at City Hall will be at half mast on August 14, 2024, in memory of Brampton Recreation employee Detlef Sertl. Detlef began his part-time career with Recreation in 2014, working at Professor’s Lake as a Facility Attendant.

Flags at City Hall will be at half mast on September 11, 2024, in memory of Al Solski, a cherished former City Manager of Brampton. Al devoted his life to public service becoming the city Treasurer and eventually the Brampton City Manager.
His tireless efforts and leadership helped shape Brampton into the vibrant, modern city it is today. Al also contributed significantly to the Peel Memorial Hospital Board, including serving as Chair in the 1990s.
