BRAMPTON, ON — The City of Brampton is gearing up for another vibrant patio season. Starting March 3, local restaurants, bars and cafés can apply for permits to set up temporary seasonal patios.
A temporary seasonal patio is an outdoor dining space that businesses such as restaurants, bars and cafés can set up for a limited time during the warmer months. These patios allow establishments to expand their seating capacity, welcoming more patrons and creating a more vibrant and enjoyable dining experience for customers.
New for 2025
The City has streamlined the application process to expedite approvals with shorter review times, making it easier than ever for businesses to set up patios in time for the beginning of the patio season.
Through this initiative, with a valid permit, businesses can operate outdoor patios from April 5 to October 25, 2025, with a daily closing time of 11 pm. All patio structures must be removed by November 1, 2025.
The Temporary Patio Expansion Program aims to support local economic growth and foster a more vibrant community. Over the past five years, the City has issued permits to nearly 90 businesses, driving progress and prosperity and job opportunities for residents.
