Welcome

​​​Brampton is home to over 80,000 Muslims from diverse backgrounds and is served by 25 masjids and musallahs. Each community possesses its own unique histories, cultures, customs and languages deeply intertwined with their identity. The City of Brampton is dedicated to creating and fostering inclusivity for all residents, including those from the Muslim community. Brampton actively hosts various events and educational programs to promote awareness and understanding of Muslim identity and culture among both the community and City staff.

In addition, the City of Brampton is taking significant steps to combat Islamophobia by collaborating with key stakeholders to implement meaningful policies and programming. Brampton is committed to building a welcoming environment that recognizes and respects the diverse backgrounds of all its residents, ensuring that everyone feels valued and included.

We acknowledge the agreements made in Treaty 19 — the Ajetance Purchase of 1818 — and are committed to our ongoing role in reconciliation through meaningful action rooted in truth, justice, and respect.
