Festival and Event Information

Bunny Eggscitment is a free family-friendly community event designed to celebrate the arrival of Spring! Families are invited to take part in an egg hunt, enjoy a variety of activities, soak in exciting entertainment and take away a delicious treat to enjoy at home. The event is offered at four community centres across the City during the three weekends leading up to the Bunny’s big day.

The City of Brampton annually hosts Movies Under the Stars, where outdoor movies are presented free for families to attend in their local parks during the summer season. Food trucks and vendors are also on site.

Every year, thousands of residents head downtown Brampton for a night out of skating in Gage Park, a live performance from incredible Canadian artists, and a dazzling fireworks display presented by our Mainstage sponsor.

Winter Lights Weekend is about celebrating Santa’s arrival to Brampton. The weekend traditionally kicks off by lighting the way for Santa, with Mayor and Members of Council at the annual Tree Lighting ceremony. The 60ft. spruce tree is decorated with over 10,000 Christmas lights lit up at Ken Whillans Square. Residents are invited to take part in free family fun activities, start their holiday shopping by visiting the unique vendors at the weekend long Christmas Market and walk through Gage Park to see its light displays.

Brampton’s annual Canada Day event is a celebration that brings residents together to celebrate this national holiday in a fun, engaging and unified way for the community.

The Great Pumpkin Party traditionally invites residents to dress in their Halloween costumes one last time and to light up their pumpkins before they are invited to ‘smash’ their pumpkins in the Region of Peel’s compost bin. The event features live performances and Halloween themed activities for all to enjoy.

Winter Wonderland is a family friendly event consisting of outdoor activities such as ice rinks, skiing and snowshoeing recreational trails, and winter walking paths for Brampton residents.

Fright Nights are free, family-oriented events hosted each October to celebrate Halloween. Activities take place at local community facilities including Gore Meadows Community Centre, located in north east Brampton, and Professor’s lake, located in central Brampton.

The City of Brampton Farmers’ Market is hosted every Saturdays from June to October 8 in downtown Brampton from 8 am to 1 pm. Residents are welcome to visit their favourite farmers and vendors for fresh local produce and prepared packaged food.
