This public art initiative is part of the My Neighbourhood Art Project, a series of site-specific, temporary art installations created in collaboration with the local community.

We All Grow Here is a three-part artwork series activating the fences at McMurchy Community Garden, Kiwanis Youth Centre for Sports Excellence and Creditview Park Community Garden. Youth from the Boys and Girls Club, Cobra Swim Club and local community gardeners were invited to co-create artwork by printing a leaf from their own gardens or using a leaf or flower from the surrounding neighbourhood. Community-made artworks were then paired with illustrations created in response to stories of growth - a great harvest, a new experience or lessons learned in connection to these sites.

One of the project goals is to increase artist opportunities by pairing a local emerging artist with an experienced lead artist. For this project, the artists worked together to facilitate community workshops, capture feedback and create the final artwork. In total, over 70 participants took part in the ideation and creation workshops for We All Grow Here!

My Neighbourhood Art Project exemplifies the importance of meaningful community arts engagement and neighbourhood beautification.
