The Brampton Arts Organization (BAO) is seeking artists, arts organizations, and creative business to apply to vend at the 2024 Brampton Farmers' Market. BAO is excited to have four booths at the market again this year, and can’t wait to highlight your work.
If you are an artist vendor, arts organization, or creative business who has a connection Brampton or Peel Region apply now to showcase your work at the 2024 Brampton Farmers’ Market. Examples of works to sell that BAO is looking for include, photo prints, editioned works, paintings, handmade jewelry, leather work, and more. Local arts organizations and creative businesses are also encouraged to apply. Please note that as an arts organization, you are not required to sell works.
General Information
- By completing this application, you are agreeing to participate in up to two market days between June 15, 2024 to October 12, 2024. Scheduling will depend on the number of applications received and vendors preferred dates.
- Participation in the Brampton Farmers' Market requires all vendors to be on site by 7am and ready to sell from 8am to 1pm.
- Manufactured items are prohibited.
- If work copies, reproduces, imitates or otherwise infringes on someone else’s copyrighted material it will not be considered.
- Failure to attend your market days and/or not being ready to sell by 8am may result in termination of the market contract and would impact future participation.
- If you are unable to attend your market date, you must contact BAO Staff a minimum of two weeks in advance. There is no guarantee that you will be rescheduled. Failure to communicate your absence may result in you being unable to apply for the market the following year.
- Limited on-site parking is available - vendor needs will be assessed on an individual basis.
- Vendors are required to adhere to environmental initiatives introduced as part of the “Green the Market Program.” Disposable containers for food vendors or any packaging must be biodegradable or recyclable and not garbage.
- The Brampton Farmers’ Market follows Region of Peel Public Health market guidelines. Compliance with these guidelines is mandatory for all vendors.
Selection Criteria
This call will prioritize original artwork, handmade goods, editioned works, and artwork and ephemera related to your creative practice and work, over bulk-produced, mass-produced items. Collectives, co-applications (two vendors per one table), arts organizations, and creative businesses are welcomed.
Arts organizations are not required to sell works and can apply for a booth for promotional/marketing and recruitment purposes. Applications with missing information will be automatically disqualified.
The selection committee will review applications for;
- Quality of work
- Vendors’ relationship and connection to Brampton and Peel Region
- Overall suitability for the market
BAO will prioritize applicants for this opportunity who self-identify in their application as belonging to one (or more) of the following groups: (Black, Indigenous, Persons of Colour, Deaf Persons, Persons with Disabilities and Persons Living with Mental Illness, 2SLGBTQIAP). We strongly encourage applications from these communities and will endeavour to accommodate applicants with a disability during our process per the Ontario Human Rights Code guidelines and other applicable legislation.

Operating Procedures
Vendor’s will be allocated a 10ft x 10ft (3m x 3m) space. Each vendor will have an 8ft long table, 2 chairs, and a tent. The City of Brampton reserves the right to relocate a vendor if necessary. Vendors are responsible to set up the tent, table, and chairs on your own. Please note in your application if you require additional support.
Insurance
BAO is pleased to provide blanket insurance to all participating vendors.
