New date - City of Brampton to host groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a second new cricket field for the summer season

Patrick Brown, Mayor of Brampton, members of Council and community partners invite members of the media to an in-person groundbreaking event to kick off construction of the City’s second new cricket pitch, which will open in June 2024 at County Court Park.

As the cricket capital of Canada, the City’s new pitch will provide a space for youth to enhance their cricket skills while promoting active and healthy lifestyles. The field will welcome leagues this summer, contributing to the expansion of Brampton’s cricket amenities.

Members of the media are invited to capture dignitaries putting shovels in the ground on the new cricket field as a photo opportunity.
