Opened to the public in Spring 2018, the
Creditview Sandalwood Park is a 100-acre gem in Brampton.
The park boasts no underground drainage sewers, a “nature pond” that irrigates its soccer fields, and approximately 2,500 trees and shrubs planted throughout the park. More than 500 trees have been planted in partnership with the Credit Valley Conservation Authority to provide a naturalized environment, improve biodiversity, improve stormwater quality, and prevent erosion.
Within the park, the Creditview Activity Hub is an example of how dynamic public spaces can encourage families to get outdoors. The Hub is the first park in Ontario to be fully Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) compliant. This means it is fully accessible for individuals with physical, mental and emotional challenges and disabilities. It has a water-cycle theme that’sa colour-coordinated with educational signage, and features a bounce wall, four-square and hopscotch, swings, junior/senior climbers, slides, sand tables, and a sway ship.
