Environment & Sustainability Sponsorship Opportunities

Green-City Initiatives

Sponsor the green initiatives of Brampton and help in creating a healthy, livable and safe community. Let’s work together to ensure the environment that we all live, work and play in stays healthy for current and future generations.

Throughout Brampton, there are four community garden locations that allow our residents to get in touch with their green thumb. Each garden location caters to about 150 individuals. Over the next two years, our goal is to build two more gardens.

Residents can hike, bike, walk, run or cross country ski along one of Brampton’s recreational trail systems, which offer more than 40 kilometres of guided and paved recreational trails throughout the city. Trails feature wayfinding signs, and offer numeous opportunities to stop for new discoveries and adventures along the way.

The Residential Tree Program provides residents with resources, opportunities and initiatives that help and encourage residents to plant and care for trees on their properties. Through the free Residential Tree Giveaway, residents have the opportunity to select from four tree species (Red Maple, Red Oak, Bur Oak, and White Spruce) and two shrubs species (Nannyberry and Serviceberry) to plant on their property.

Each year, the Parks & Recreation department hosts a number of clean-up initiatives throughout the City as we enter the spring/summer season. The Program helps remove litter that has accumulated in our parks, and aims to maintain healthy vibrant spaces.

A key action of the Brampton 2040 Vision is planting one million trees by 2040 to grow the urban forest, mitigate and adapt to climate change and foster the delivery of ecosystem services. The City hosts several community tree planting events throughout the year, where residents of all ages can come together to support this important initiative.

Typically held in March right before growing season, this event has been running for the past 7 years. Located at Century Gardens Recreation Centre, it’s considered to be a Gardeners Trade Show, where over 1,000 gardeners gather to get their seed supplies for the season.
